About us

More than 60 years of experience in Danish industry

Forging business with roots dating back to 1960

The company was established in 1985 under the name BM Contracting A/S. In 1998, the shareholder base was expanded and the name changed to BM Steel Construction A/S with the same management and employees.

BM Steel Construction A/S is an order-producing forging company with roots dating back to 1960, when the company started as a traditional village forge. Since then, the company has grown to carry out everything within forging and steelwork, where large and small tasks are solved, with the main emphasis on the “heavy” steel industry, but also locksmith work and stainless steel tasks are performed by experienced staff.

Over the years, we have carried out large and resource-intensive tasks such as welding bridge sections on the Great Belt Bridge, assembly and welding of over 30 kilometres of district heating pipes under the Port of Copenhagen, assembly and welding of ship sections at the Lindø shipyard, and many more.

Our customers include shipyards and shipping companies in Denmark and Germany, as well as major construction companies, refineries, power plants and other industrial customers.

BMSC employs between 150 and 250 blacksmiths, welders, fitters and more on an annual basis.

1998: Name change and strategic development
An important turning point came in 1998, when the group of owners was expanded. The activities of BM Contracting were continued in a new company with Jan Lynge Pedersen as director and co-owner. In connection with this, the company changed its name to BM Steel Construction A/S, while retaining management and employees. The name change reflected a strategic sharpening of the focus on the steel and heavy industry and tasks with high technical complexity.

From this point on, BM Steel Construction A/S clearly positioned itself as a specialist in prefabrication, assembly and welding of large steel structures.
